Did you know our little town's museum is actually the largest telephone museum in the five surrounding states? This is more than just a telephone museum, as it tells the history of Montrose.
The Montrose Historical and Telephone Pioneer Museum is located at 114 East Hickory Street. It is open Monday and Tuesday: 9:30 am - 3:30 pm and Sunday: 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm. This museum houses the first telephone in Michigan - a must-see right in your back yard! Stop in, say hi and bring your family and friends.
The newly reestablished Chamber of Commerce's mission is to help promote and grow the Montrose economy in a professional and civic environment. We plan on working with both the city and township to create a growth plan, for both our economy and the citizens of Montrose.
We cannot do this on our own - we will need your help. How can you help? We plan on using social media, so please visit and like our page on Facebook! Sharing with your local friends will also help. We will be holding regular, old school, face-to-face meetings where you can join us, and maybe even sign up on a committee.
Thank you to John Gleason for helping us put together our first major event. Also, thank you to the Montrose Pub for hosting us! We had 17 participants, and it was a great turnout. We are already planning next year!
Sun sets on another great Blueberry Festival. Thank you Schmidt Amusement for another great year. We at the Montrose Area Chamber want to thank all the people that make the Blueberry Festival come together. If it wasn't for the hours and hours of hard work you all put in, we would not have this great event year after year. We hope you all get a small break before you start planning next year!
Barbers Park located in Montrose Township not only has a great view of the Flint river, but it also houses a very unique structure for Military Veterans. This structure is called Veterans Bell Memorial, and started out as a tribute to honor a P.O.W. from the the Korean War.
This impressive bell is constructed of stainless steel and tips the scales at over two tons. We encourage you to stop by and pay your respects to current and fallen Military Veterans. Thank you to all who serve this great country.
